What made you get involved with Walk and Talk?

Personal chat with Dave Newey and the realisation that we could make a difference to men in our area.

What does Walk & Talk mean to you personally?

It provides me with an outlet to reduce the sense of isolation and know that I am not alone when struggling through life's challenges

What do you enjoy most about being a Trustee?

Striving to Create a community that self supports itself and recognises the strength in a shared approach

What skills or experience do you bring to the board?

Trustee of other Charities, Business management, Communications and leadership development, Coaching, Counselling.

Why do you think Walk & Talk is important for men’s mental health?

Men need a permission not to cope. This doesn't have to be visible to all, but the creation of Walk and Talk enables men to share their feelings and experiences and know that they are not alone. There is no super-man, super-dad, super-human - we are all struggling in navigating what life provides us - some days we do well, other days, not so. Why Walk and Talk provides is the foundation for which men can build their own mechanisms to positively manage challenges, relationships and mental health

What do you love doing when you’re not involved in Walk & Talk?

I find it difficult to find time due to work and the involvement with others

One thing that always helps your own well-being is…

Recognising that I'm allowed to be fallible

Fun fact about you:

I cook. I don't think I have anything else
