Creating Space for Men to Connect, Grow & Feel Supported

Walk & Talk for MENtal Health began with a simple belief: men open up more easily when connection feels natural, informal, and free from judgement.

What started out as a walking group for men in Leighton Buzzard has grown into a thriving community offering a wide range of events designed to support men’s mental, emotional and social wellbeing.

We soon realised that the need for this service was bigger than we originally imagined. With a growing community wanting to support our work with donations and a need to apply for grant funding to extend our services, the next logical step was to become a registered charity and, in March 2024, Walk and Talk for Men's Mental Health (Reg charity number 1207596) was formed.

Today, our charity brings together the power of walking, talking, nature, shared experiences and community. Yes, we walk - but we also host regular talks, retreat days, craft nights, curry nights, cinema experiences, workshops, and special member only events that help men explore new interests, meet others and build confidence.

Everything we do is welcoming, accessible, and grounded in empathy, respect and the belief that no man should feel alone.

Why We Started

Many men struggle silently with stress, loneliness, grief, pressure at home, or challenges at work. Asking for help can feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar and traditional support settings and mental health support services don’t work for everyone.

Walk & Talk for MENtal Health was created to offer something simple and human: a place where men can talk if they want to, listen if they need to, or simply be around others who understand.

We offer spaces that feel natural - a walk outdoors, a shared meal, a creative workshop, a talk on wellbeing, or a night out trying something new. These shared experiences help men feel grounded, supported and connected to a community that truly cares.

Our mission is to support men through the power of walking, talking, nature, community and shared experiences. Every interaction strengthens not just individuals, but their families, friendships, workplaces and the wider local community.

A Community of Experiences

Walk & Talk for MENtal Health now offers a diverse programme designed to support men in different ways and at different stages of their wellbeing journey. We know that mental wellbeing is not a one size fits all and so we encourage our members to pick the support options that work for them.

Open events

Our walk and talk events and our Talk and Talk evenings are open to all men over 18 in the Leighton Buzzard area.  You do not need to be a member but you must register for the event. Click here to view our upcoming events.
